Reading and Signing: Dan Rosenberg & A.E. Watkins

October 7, 2012 | 1:30-3pm

Dan Rosenberg and A.E. Watkins are touring the Midwest to support their debut collections, which are just out from Dream Horse Press. Both books engage a quotidian world - a world part pasture and part machine - with concern, sympathy, and wonder.

Dan Rosenberg's The Crushing Organ was awarded the 2011 American Poetry Journal Book Prize. His poems, translations, and book reviews have appeared recently in Pleiades, American Letters & Commentary, Kenyon Review Online, and Iowa Review. A graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, he is currently a co-editor of Transom and a P.h.D student at UGA in Athens, GA.

A.E. Watkins's Dear, Companion was the runner-up for the 2011 American Poetry Journal Book Prize: it was also a finalist for the 2011 New Issues Poetry Prize. Individual poems from this collection have appeared in Barrow Street, Copper Nickel, Denver Quarterly, Hayden's Ferry Review, and elsewhere. A.E. holds an MFA from Sait Mary's College of California and is a doctoral candidate in Purdue University's Literary Studies Program.
