Funes the Memorious written by the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges in 1942.

Daniel Pereira, from Caracas, Venezuela, enjoys a multifaceted and versatile career as a cello teacher, chamber music coach, orchestral performer and chamber musician. Since 2005, he has been a member of the cello section of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra. He performs regularly with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony and New World Symphony. From 2006-17, Pereira served as a regular substitute with The Cleveland Orchestra. Aside from his musical activities, Daniel enjoys studying other art forms such as cinema, painting, and literature.  He has been reading and studying Borges for the last 25 years.

Funes the Memorious is a short story written by the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges in 1942 and added to his collection of short stories titled Ficciones, published in 1944. It narrates the story of a compadrito named Ireneo Funes from rural Uruguay who obtains a prodigious memory after sustaining a fall from a horse. In creating this character, Borges explores the limits of language and the impossibility of truly describing reality. Please join me and experience the richness embedded in this story; whether you are an avid Borges reader or experiencing his prose for the first time, you will be captivated by the magic of this singular writer.

Funes el Memorioso es un cuento escrito por el escritor argentino Jorge Luis Borges en 1942 y añadido a su coleccion de cuentos titulado Ficciones, publicado en 1944,  Alli se narra la historia de un compadrito llamado Ireneo Funes procediente de un pueblo rural del Uruguay, el cual obtiene una memoria prodigiosa como consecuencia de una caida a caballo.  En su creacion de este caracter, Borges explora los limites del lenguaje y la imposibilidad de este para describir detalladamente la realidad. Por favor, acompáñenme y disfrute de la gran riqueza presente en este relato, no importa si usted es un experimentado lector de Bprges o esta disfrutando de su prosa por primera vez, sin duda será captivado por la magia de este singular escritor.
