Echoes is a new monthly series of free events that celebrate live music, music education, and homegrown musicians. These events are held every month on the same day as our way of giving back to the community.
Poets Jam with Ray McNeice - Every Fourth Thursday
Above musician (left) Nancy Redd and Ray McNiece. An open poetry and spoken word night with live accompaniment on the fourth Thursday. Ray McNiece, one of the area’s foremost poets, hosts the event, encouraging poets of all talents to read their poetry while being backed by musicians who play their instruments to the rise and fall of words being spoken.
ROOTS: Masters of American Music - every fourth Wednesday
On the fourth Wednesdays, ROOTS, a nonprofit since 1999 that has been committed to preserving the rich and diverse history of American music, has partnered with Visible Voice Books to present their series, Masters of American Music. This features a ROOTS teaching artist who will discuss and perform music that highlights and celebrates a musician who has been influential to them personally and has also been woven into the fabric of American music.

Saturday Sessions - Every Saturday
Above musicians from Bakers BasementFeatures a musician or duo of musicians from the region every Saturday from 2-4 pm. This weekly event allows a musician to highlight a unique musical style. They often come with acoustic instruments or other small setups that allow for a dynamic and innovative approach.
Above:(left) RA Washington and Brent Kirby. Kitchen Table Songs Hosted by Brent Kirby - Every second Wednesday
On the second Wednesdays of the month from 6 pm- 8 pm, Cleveland songwriter and musician Brent Kirby invites a fellow songwriter to sit at a kitchen table that is set up on stage. Kirby interviews the songwriter on their career path, inspirations, and process of writing songs, followed by questions from the audience. The program concludes with a performance, along with a discussion about the stories behind the songs.
Drop The Needle, on the Third Thursdays from 6 pm-8 pm, is a community listening experience. It features a local musical experts who pick an influential album that they discuss in detail, followed by “dropping the needle” on side A, then side B, and following that up with audience reaction and discussion.
