Come and bring your poetry for this month’s Open Mic Poet Jam with Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger and the Tongue in Groove Trio! Share your work at the mic while the band responds with improvisation, or take the stage on your own. However you choose to perform, the mic is yours.

Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger are award-winning poets, authors, educators, longtime “partners in rhyme,” and living proof that an alarming number of years spent writing poetry can eventually get you invited to host things. Sara is the author of more than a dozen books for children, adults and teachers as well as an award-winning performance poet. Michael is an eight time captain and coach of the Cleveland Poetry Slam team that represented the city at the National Poetry Slam competition. Through Outspoken Lit, they visit schools worldwide providing author visits, professional development and classroom workshops in writing, comprehension strategies, and public speaking for students K-12. They will be accompanied by musicians Al Moses, Nick Marino, and Adam Brodsky.
